Writing a Great Cover Letter

Excellent cover letters follow a specific format.

Date

Address

Salutation

Paragraph one: Explain why you are writing to the employer in a way that stimulates interest. Be as creative as possible in your approach.

Paragraph two: Describe how your qualifications and accomplishments are aligned with the stated job requirements.

Paragraph three: Tell the recipient why they should hire you. Make sure the employer knows what you can and will accomplish for them.

Paragraph four: Request an interview and tell the employer when you will follow up if possible.

Note: Always thank the employer for their time and consideration.
