What Should be Included in an Electronic Teacher Portfolio?

Typically, an electronic portfolio includes the some or all of the following:

  • A current resume
  • Scores from any required state testing
  • Copies of your teaching license(s)
  • Copies of any additional certifications
  • A personal statement focusing on your teaching philosophy
  • Letters of recommendation
  • Documentation of any awards received
  • Examples of the quality of your work outputs such as lesson plans, tests, handouts, and rubrics
  • Records of formal observations
  • Documentation of continuing education completed
  • Examples of student work
  • Sample copies of communications with the community such as newsletters for example
  • A picture of you

Enjoy the process! Electronic portfolios are a great way to show potential employers who you are and what kind of an impact you can bring to their school system.
